Drought in the Making: A Summer of Scorching Summers England is sleepwalking into a drought ridden summer, with the Environment Agency warning that several areas could move towards or into drought next week.
This comes on the heels of seven consecutive weeks with less than 10mm of rainfall across the country. Half of England is already in drought, and Wales has experienced its driest July on record.
The cumulative effect of these hot and dry conditions is staggering: our natural resources are parched. The statistics bear this out – we're witnessing a perfect storm that requires immediate attention.
